Christian McBride masterclass in London

This masterclass taking place on Saturday 11th July, is aimed primarily at the under 25s 7th July 2009: Christian McBride has played with all the major jazz musicians on the scene today, including Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, and currently leads one of the hottest bands in music, quintet ‘Christian McBride & Inside Straight’.  In discussion with Time Out’s Mike Flynn, McBride will perform solo, answer audience questions and offer practical advice on technique. This masterclass taking place on Saturday 11th July, from 2-4pm, is aimed primarily at the under 25s. It takes place as part of Rhythm of London, a new Mayor of London campaign to promote music opportunities in London and highlight activity that makes music more accessible to young people. On Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July, Christian will also be performing with his band ‘Inside Straight’ (saxophonist Steve Wilson, pianist Peter Martin, vibraphonist Warren Wolf, Jr., drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr.) at Ronnie Scotts.
