Africa is rich of natural resources which are constantly exploited and exported. But there is one which the continent is yet to appreciate and benefit from - African music. Kanda Bongo Man, a veteran African musician based in the UK, holds that African music is one of the most valuable resources the continent can export. African music, he says, is “just as valuable as natural resources such as diamonds and minerals.”

Legendary Jamaican record producer, songwriter and vocalist has died. Winston Riley fell into a coma after he was shot in Kingston on 1st November 2011. He died on 19th January 2012, aged 65.

Young widow storms Kenyan music scene
Winnie Juma, the wife of the late Kenyan Rumba maestro Musa Juma has released a new album to mourn her departed husband.
Winnie, who has now assumed leadership of Limpopo International Band, composed the songs together with Millie Fedha, the late Musa Juma’s sister.
