Italian authorities are appealing to the public to help identify about 100 children who have been trafficked to different parts of the world after being given false names.

Cocaine smuggler jailed for six years

A Nigerian man who tried to smuggle over half a kilogram of cocaine into the UK has been jailed for six years.

Martins Ndubuisi Onkonkwo, 36, arrived at Birmingham airport on 18th May 2011 on a flight from Cameroon via Zurich. He was stopped and questioned by officers who suspected that he was smuggling drugs. He was examined using a high-tech internal body scanner which revealed several packages inside his stomach.

Onkonkwo was then taken to Solihull hospital where an x-ray confirmed that many packages had been swallowed. He was then taken into custody at Manchester airport where nature was allowed to take its course. He eventually passed 55 pellets weighing 550 grams. The Class A drug had a street value of up to £127,000.

Celebrity promoter jailed for identity fraud

A Jamaican man who used a fake identity to set up an events promotion business has been jailed for 11 months. Godfry Fogah, 38, promoted concerts for celebrities such as Damian Marley, Gyptian, The Game and 50 cent.

He was tracked down by officers after they found he had fraudulently obtained a British passport.

He was granted a visit visa in 1997 under his name of Fogah but has never entered the UK using this visa. Fogah was found to have set up a false identity under the name of Errol Earl Stone and had obtained a passport using this false identity.

Two rapists jailed for 36 years

Two men have been sentenced to a total of 36 years imprisonment for raping two young women in separate incidents.

Jermaine Kraftner, 28, and Corrie Ian Pinney, 36, both of Yarbridge Close, Sutton were convicted on 16th September of numerous offences, including seven counts of rape, following a trial at Croydon Crown Court. They received a sentence of 18 years imprisonment each.

During the trial the jury heard harrowing details from a 22 year old woman who Kraftner and Pinney raped and violently assaulted on 20th April 2010 at their home address.

Man who entered UK on false Nigerian passport jailed

A Nigerian who entered the UK with a false Nigerian passport has been jailed for nine months.

Collins Kola Ayoola, 32, living in Ballymena, pleaded guilty to fraud at Downpatrick Crown Court.

Ayoola was living in Belfast when he was arrested in 2009 by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) officers after he used the false passport to obtain an electoral card, open a number of bank accounts and register a business.
