The man who murdered Sylvester Akapalara in Peckham in 2010 has been jailed.

Sodiq Adeojo, 20, of Shurland Gardens SE15 – was 16th February 2012 sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of 17-year-old Sylvester.

Trident Gang Crime Command made more than 500 gang related arrests across London last week. The operation lasted three days and involved almost 5,000 Metropolitan police officers and staff.

So far 253 people have been charged with offences ranging from possession of firearms to violent disorder and GBH.

A man who raped and sexually assaulted two young girls has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment.  

John Mensah, 48, from Broadcoombe, Croydon, was sentenced on 7th February 2012 at Croydon Crown Court.

Ten people have been jailed for a total of 16 years for trying to organise an international sham marriage conspiracy which centred on three churches in Nottingham.
