Mr. and Miss East Africa UK Red & Black party raises money for Haiti Print E-mail
£1200 to help poor children in Haiti

myriam-front.jpg13th April 2010: Mr. East Africa UK and Miss East Africa UK pageants recently teamed up with Club Volts in London to raise money for Haiti charity United Haitians of United Kingdom (UHUK).

The exciting night was well attended by well-wishers and supporters of the prestigious African pageants wearing either red or black even though some opted out of the dress code.

Club Volts donated £600 from the door proceeds while Ms. Pauline Long, the founder of Mr. East Africa UK and Miss East Africa UK matched the amount with a donation of £600, bringing to a total of £1200 donated to UHUK charity.

“Thank you Pauline and Jeff, Mr. East Africa UK and Miss East Africa UK for making the Red and Black party a successful event”, said Carole Attis, Chair of UHUK.

UHUK is the only UK based Haitian charity working closely with children from underprivileged backgrounds in Haiti. It is a small charity that relies entirely on the general public to donate towards the good cause.
